Happenings in the Forest - 5/10/24
Warm weather is finally here! Here is what the Town has been up to this week:
Town Hall
- The Friends of Biltmore Forest will be meeting May, 13 at 9:30am
- Food Truck Friday is kicking off for the summer with Allie's Sweet Treats on May, 17 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
- This particular Food Truck Friday is going to be a bit different. It will be held at the Town Hall complex due to park renovations.
- The Town is hosting a blood drive with The Blood Connection on May, 22 from 2:00pm-7:00pm
- All residents and nonresidents (friends, family, coworkers, etc.) to participate

- Walk-ins are welcome, but there might be a wait depending on how many others signed up for that time slot.
Public Works
- Collected garbage and recycling
- Provided utility locates
- Conducted tree assessments
- Collected daily water chlorine tests
- Conducted bacteriological and THM water tests
- Serviced dog waste stations
- Brookside Park trail building project continues
- Mowed and string trimmed Town Hall complex, Brookside Park, and Hemlock pond area
- Address storm drain concerns on Vanderbilt Road
- Repair bus stop roof at Hilltop and Stuyvesant
- Replaced a residential water meter
- Blew roadways
- Remove debris from roadway following storms
