Happenings in The Forest - 5/24/2024

Summer is off to a great start here in The Forest! Here are the current happenings in The Forest:

Town Hall

  • We had a wonderful turnout for the blood drive at Town Hall! Thank you to everyone who donated and helped spread the word. Together we make our community stronger and better! 
  • The June Board of Commissioners Meeting has been moved to Tuesday, June 4th.
  • The May Planning Board Meeting has been cancelled.
  • The June Planning Board Meeting will be a joint meeting with the Board of Commissioners on Monday, June 24th.
  • The 4th of July celebration will be taking place on Thursday, July  4th beginning at 10am. We hope to see y'all there!!

Police Department

  • Officer Jim Robinson has joined the BFPD force and has begun field training to be out on full time patrol. 
    • We welcome Officer Robinson to The Town and wish him nothing but success! 

Public Works

  • Collected garbage and recycling
  • Provided utility locates
  • Conducted tree assessments
  • Collected daily water chlorine tests
  • Serviced dog waste stations
  • Brookside Park trail building project is completed
  • Mowed and string trimmed Town Hall complex, Busbee triangle, Lower Vanderbilt Park, Rosebank Park, Hemlock Pond & Road Shoulders
  • Provided water service for new residence
  • Completed brush collection for the North side of Town
  • Cleaned service vehicles
  • Trimmed road shoulder at Southwood Road
