Happenings in the Forest - 8/11/23
TGIF everyone! Here is what has been going on in the Forest this week.
Town Hall Updates:
- The Kiwanis Club of Asheville will host its annual road race fundraiser in Biltmore Forest on Saturday, August 12.
- The race will begin at 7:30 AM from Carolina Day School and travel throughout the Town
- There will be a two day public meeting being held at Town Hall on August 16th & 17th beginning at 10:00am both days

- The Running Club - Will meet at 9am on Saturday, August 19th at Town Hall
Police Department Updates:
- Aslyne and Debbie attended the International APCO conference for public safety dispatchers in Nashville, TN
- We have several Officers attending training classes.
- Officer Hunter Graham was sworn in and is beginning field training. Make sure to congratulate Officer Graham if you see him!
Public Works Updates:
Collect garbage and recycling
Mow and string trim
- Road shoulders
- Greenwood Park
- LVP
- Town Hall Complex
- Utility locates
- Tree assessments
- Daily water chlorine tests
- Cleared the following road shoulders
- Southwood Road near Brookside Road
- Cedarcliff near the Bell Gate
- Westwood and Hilltop
- Holly Hill
- Cedar Chine
- Cleaned up two fallen trees, One on Cedar Hill the other on Brookside Road
- Repaired road shoulders at Eastwood and Stuyvesant
- Cleaned-out storm drains
- Removed dead trees in Brookside Park
- Serviced dog waste station
- Blew debris off roadway
- Litter pick-up
