October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Mayor Goosmann signed a Proclamation for October Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month  is held each October to acknowledge domestic violence survivors and be a voice for its victims.  Domestic violence is nationally recognized as a public health issue and causes serious health-related consequences.  Victims and survivors may experience physical injuries like broken bones or head trauma, and endure long term effects due to chronic stress and anxiety.
