Revisions to Animal Control Ordinance

At their regular April meeting, the Town Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted revisions to the animal control ordinance. The full text of the ordinance can be found by clicking the link below.

The ordinance includes enhanced definitions of household pets and an increase in the limit of total household pets on a property from 3 to 6. The revised ordinance does specify that only three dogs may be allowed on a property, and the existing registration requirements for dogs still apply. Additional clarifications were made related to animals commonly referred to as farm animals, and a new section prohibiting the keeping of designated wild animals was added.
