First Annual Arbor Day Event Saturday, April 27th
Please join us for an exciting event on Saturday, April 27th from 10am-12pm at Rosebank Park for the Town's first annual Arbor Day event!
From 10am-11am, Smokey the Bear will be our special guest for the children! Get your picture taken or give Smokey a high five to prevent forest fires!
There will be plenty of hands-on activities for kids, including a scavenger hunt, rock painting, a leaf and bark rubbing activity, coloring, and an opportunity for children to help plant a new garden bed at the park.
Drake Fowler, Chief Financial Officer of the North Carolina Arboretum and licensed landscape architect, will speak at 10am and 11am. Mr. Fowler will speak about native trees and invasive species. He will also provide an overview of the NC Arboretum's various activities and offerings. Town Arborist Charles Tesner will also be introduced.
