Boiled Water Advisory In Effect
The Town of Biltmore Forest has issued a boiled water advisory (BWA) for its water customers. This BWA is issued In conjunction with the City of Asheville and its North Fork Reservoir project. At 12 pm today, the City of Asheville issued a boil water advisory for the entire water system. Since the Town of Biltmore Forest purchases water from the City of Asheville, this BWA includes the Town.
Water customers are encouraged to vigorously boil tap water for 1 minute before consuming it. During this time, City of Asheville staff will be performing laboratory testing; the advisory will be lifted when tests confirm the possibility of risk is not present. This does not mean that the water is contaminated, but that the possibility exists.
The Town issued this BWA information via the CodeRED system and will notify residents via CodeRED when the BWA is lifted. If you are not signed up for CodeRED, please click the "sign up" link at the bottom of the Town's home page. For additional information on this boiled water advisory or if you experience any issues with your water, please visit the City of Asheville's project website at this link for additional information.
