Debris Right of Way Pick Up - Last Pass Information

The Town’s contractor will begin a final sweep for storm debris on the right-of-way on Monday, March 3. Materials placed at the right of way will be collected through Sunday, March 30 with final pass anticipated to be completed by that time.

This does not apply to other debris removal efforts, including private property debris removal (PPDR) and waterway debris removal. Contractors will continue conducting these operations throughout the spring.

Through yesterday, the Town has removed 350,000 cubic yards of vegetative debris from the right of way and processed over 130,000 cubic yards of wood chips.

The Town continues to work with utility providers, including Duke Energy, AT&T, and Charter Communications, for appropriate debris removal.

The Town appreciates everyone’s patience and hard work to remove the massive amounts of storm debris generated by Hurricane Helene. Our citizens, staff, and contractors have done a tremendous job over the past 5 months in helping the Town recover. Thank you all!
